Hey! I'm Dr. Shawn and I know from personal experience exactly what languishing looks like. Even though I was what most people would call “fit” and knew quite a bit about nutrition and exercise, I wasn’t thriving.

Training as a U.S. rower, cyclist, and triathlete which led me to become a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition (ACN), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the American Institute of Stress (AIS).

I then began serving as a nutritional educator for athletes in a variety of sports. These included:

  • Professional triathletes,
  • NBA basketball members,
  • The U.S. Ski & Snowboard team in the Winter Olympics,
  • And many other elite teams.

My experience in those communities helped me to research and create some of the leading nutritional products on the market. With this knowledge, I also created academic textbooks, award-winning documentaries, and several best-selling books.

My work as an athlete, coach, and educator has earned me national recognition on the TED and White House stages.

What are the requirements for becoming a Certified Mental Wellness Coach?

Becoming a Certified Mental Wellness Coach requires the successful completion of 16 hours of coursework conducted in a fully online self-paced curriculum. This is delivered in conjunction with the Sports Medicine Dept at Marietta College. Every module can be completed on your own timeframe, and “extra” (optional) learning is available in the form of special reports, weekly webinars, and bonus lectures.
