The American Psychological Association (APA) released their annual “Stress in America” survey results this week – showing that stress levels in the USA are at their all-time highest.
As in previous years, some of the most prevalent sources of stress are money (62%) and work (61%) – but this year, the “future of the nation” was also noted as a significant source of stress (63%) – no matter what side of the political aisle you’re on.
Among general findings, as is the case every year since the survey began, women reported significantly higher stress levels than men (5.1 vs 4.4 on a 10-point scale, where 1 is “little or no stress” and 10 is “a great deal of stress”).

It’s important to manage our biochemical response to stress – because unrelenting chronic stress can lead to problems with both Mental Wellness (depression, anxiety, burnout) and Physical Health (obesity/diabetes, heart disease, cancer).
